The SAML credentials (Security Assertion Markup Language) tool is used by Fusion Sport to enter the necessary information to enable single sign-on (SSO) capability for Smartabase. Once activated, Smartabase pushes security considerations such as password policy enforcement and multi-factor authentication to the SSO provider. Users can then go to their SSO provider's portal, launch Smartabase and be logged in automatically. This can be enforced on a site-wide basis through the application details tool by a Fusion Sport consultant. SSO can also be enabled for select users in the organization on a role by role basis (using the roles tool) by an administrator. Once the credentials are entered, SSO is enabled for all users with matching email addresses to access via their SSO provider's portal. Likewise, if a user with SSO enabled attempts to log in via a browser, they will be prompted to log in via their SSO provider.
Note that installed offline Smartabase applications cannot be launched using SSO.
