The simple body area field in Smartabase allows users to select areas from a body diagram. It works in a similar way to the body area summary field, but the areas for selection are more generalized. This is useful when recording injuries that are difficult to pinpoint to a location on the body.
The available areas for selection are listed below.

When someone selects an area on the body, the area is highlighted in red. Each selected area shows the number of times it has been selected and saved for the athlete in the past.
People can select multiple areas on the body diagram. The number of areas that someone can select depends on the maximum number of items set in the advanced properties of the simple body area field.
The simple body area works in both mobile and group data entry if these properties are set.
Steps to add a simple body area field to an event form
- Log in to the builder interface.
- Select the Event Forms tool.
- Select New Event Form from the Options drop-down menu or choose an existing event form.
- Name and categorize the event form.
- Add the simple body area field from the list of custom fields in the left sidebar.
- Name this field and provide instructions for users to interact with the body diagram.
- Set the advanced properties, including the Maximum Number Of Items users can select.
- Click Save.
